Hello, I’m Kate, a Senior Women’s Health Nurse with a deep-rooted passion for fertility and menopause care. My career in women’s health began in 2007, encompassing a diverse range of experiences in gynaecology and early pregnancy, including an enriching year in Australia. I also spent eight wonderful years at a top IVF clinic before deciding to offer my services independently.
I am proud to manage the Women’s Health Pathway as part of the MSc in Specialist Nursing at Dublin City University. This role allows me to merge my love for education with my dedication to women’s health, training the next generation of specialist nurses.
My Special Interests and Expertise: I have a specialist interest in premature ovarian insufficiency, fertility preservation, and egg donation. My passion for learning led me to complete an MSc in Reproductive Medicine, and I’ve undertaken various postgraduate modules in gynaecology, fertility, sexual health, and counselling.
Currently, I am pursuing a part-time PhD at the Centre of Reproduction Research at DeMontfort University, focusing on women’s lived experiences of premature menopause. Additionally, I am trained in pelvic scanning for fertility and early pregnancy, which equips me with comprehensive skills to support my clients.
Professional Affiliations: I am dual registered as a nurse in both the UK and Ireland, and actively involved with several prestigious organisations. These include ESHRE, The British Menopause Society, and The International Reproductive Education Committee. I also serve on the advisory board of the Menopause Research Education Foundation and contribute to the education committee of the European Fertility Society.
My Mission and Approach: Passionate, enthusiastic, and caring, I am on a mission to share my knowledge and experience to help women navigate the complexities of fertility and menopause. My extensive experience has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of these areas, ensuring that I provide comprehensive and empathetic care to all my clients.
If you are seeking expert advice and compassionate care in women’s health, particularly around fertility and menopause, I’d love to work with you. Let’s embark on this journey together, ensuring you receive the best possible support and guidance.
